Log Files

ducksite follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

On the ducksite we use Alexa Siteinfo to analyse how visitors come on the website, which keywords they use on search engines to get a global ranking.
We use ofcourse Google Analytics for all statistics, how many people are online, which pages they visit, how long they stay on each page, whether they interact or not. It uses demography, gender, locations (using your IP-adres) and all info you set public to Google. We are using this to check which operating system visitors are using most often and where they are coming from and ofcoruse which pages, duration and interaction they do between those pages, to adjust the website.
We also have 2 visible visitor-trackers: Freecounterstat which shows you a number of total visitors the ducksite have visited; whos.amung.us/ which shows you a dotted map with online visitors.

You can choose to disallow these 4 tracking cookies on your first visit on the ducksite.

Tracking & Marketing cookies on duckfaucet

There is a part on the ducksite, duckhunting, located on the subdomain ducksite.be/duckhunting/ where a visitor needs to allow tracking and marketing cookies to get access to it. The purpose of this subdomain is to play a game, partly created by us and partly offered by Third Party Sites with iframes technology. We can't block those iframes properly and access to this subdomain is useless if the visitor doesn't want to allow cookies from those Third Party Sites because he would be staring at a blank page if everything is blocked.
That's the main and first reason a visitor needs to allow those extra cookies.

A second and logical reason: a visitor wants to play the game to earn credits, our currency name is called duckies, which he can convert into real cryptocoins or euro and withraw to his wallets. We spend those credits on visitors in a mutual relationship: by displaying advertisements, we also earn credits on those websites of advertisers and Third Party Sites that we try to get paid out in cryptocoins or euros or dollars to our own accounts.
In short version: we want to make money showing advertisements and we only want to give money away for free to visitors who allow marketing cookies.

A visitor doesn't need to allow these tracking and marketing cookies when creating an account (login). He can always turn this option on and off at any time on his account or when logging in: every time a visitor logs in with his credentials (username and password) he needs to check to allow Tracking and Marketing cookies. Not checking = standard = disallowing = the visitor won't receive these cookies.
Allowing these cookies will grant access to the subdomain ducksite.be/duckhunting/. Disallowing these cookies will block access to this subdomain by script but all other parts of ducksite are accessible.
